Over the weekend, we sat down and wrote a 2-page to-do list, categorized by topic, with multiple sub-points. And then yesterday, we drafted a daily schedule from now until the beginning of May. Many of these plans will likely not come to fruition just as we’ve planned them (we’re looking at you, James 4:13-17). But we feel better knowing that what we have to do is doable. Maybe. By God’s grace.

So here are some April prayer points:
- Safety in traveling. We’ll be flying cross-continent multiple times in the next 6 weeks or so, plus making the drive from Alaska to Quebec in a U-Haul. We’ll share more details later. For now, please pray that God’s hand of safety, protection, and blessing will be on us in each leg of the journey.
- Peace of heart and mind. The next few weeks will include lots of changes to our lives here (like opening a Canadian bank account today!) and will kick-start a lot more changes to our daily routine. Pray for God’s peace to guard our kids’ hearts and minds as we’re apart during our travels. Pray for Allen and I to be “joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.”
- Wisdom in each step. Each decision we make right now is multi-faceted and layered. Pray that God’s hand will guide us in wisdom and that there will be lasting fruit from what we do.
- Financial provision. We have the funds in our ABWE account to pay for our moving-related expenses, but there are some things (like multiple Covid tests to enter the USA) that aren’t necessarily included. Pray that God will provide the finances we need for each little (and big) step.
If you’re in Alaska, we’d love to see you between April 15th and 24th… in fact, you are all invited to our “Not Moving to Africa” yard sale on Saturday, April 23rd!

Thanks for praying, friends, and we’ll see some of you soon!
