Long weekend, birthdays, French learning update… what a week. We’re here to look at some of our favorites.
But first, people had big feelings about the French learning video we shared yesterday! In fact, I shared it in my French class yesterday, and even my instructor had big feelings about it: he was laughing so hard as we watched it! Another classmate shared this video, too, so if you need another French laugh, there you go.
We celebrated my birthday on Saturday. Plans changed quite a bit (thanks, allergies), but we ended up having a really relaxing day together as a family. Then on Wednesday, I opened the rest of my presents in between classes. We had a great sushi dinner and some ice cream cake to usher in my next year. Thank you everyone for the birthday wishes!
Ruth’s had a wiggly tooth for over a month now and it finally came out yesterday.
Hudson got his cast off this week! Before his appointment on Tuesday, I had him practice sitting still for the x-rays. It was so sweet seeing him sitting there in that big room and all the kind nurses and x-ray technicians were so impressed. As we walked out, he said, “Bye friends!” and I’m pretty sure they all melted.
Quiet reading time continues to be one of the kids’ favorite time of day in our house. All of them (even Hudson) fathers a big stack of books, gets cozy, and reads / looks at pictures until I say their done. Ruth told me yesterday, “Mom, I love reading. I don’t really know how yet, but I love it.”
We bought three cheap plastic pools over the weekend and set them up with a sprinkler in our driveway. The kids loved it (but their allergies didn’t)! It has been in the 90s here and this Alaskan family is struggling to adjust. Praise God for homemade slushees, pools, and air conditioning.
And that’s a wrap on our week! We hope you’ve had a great one, too.
