It’s time for the weekly “scroll back through our photos and see what we did this week because our brains are fried from French and we can’t remember anything!” post.
Last Friday, we went on a date!! We dropped the kids at Parents’ Night Out, grabbed some sushi, and went to a massive book store. It was so much fun. We are so thankful for a church who actively prioritizes marriages by planning these monthly nights out.
Saturday, we rode the train with some friends… and unbeknownst to us, it was Thomas the Train Day! We got to participate in all the fun Thomas things without paying $50 per ticket. Win win!
It was a beautiful day and the kids were all jazzed to spend it together.
Sunday, we had church, missions life group, a Costco run, and lots of French homework.
Then Monday through Thursday looked about the same: breakfast, class, lunch, class, dinner, kids to bed, homework, and parents to bed. We sneak in some reading and snuggles when we can, play lots of games, watch movies, and practice forgiveness and grace.
However, we’re trying to build more routine and less chaos into our lives, so we started an afternoon reading time. Each of our kids grabs some books, settles onto their beds, and reads / looks at books for a while. Ideally, it’ll end up being about an hour (in lieu of any other “quiet rest time”). So far, the kids are loving it!
This weekend, we’re celebrating my birthday (which is on the 26th) with a trip to the zoo! We haven’t been yet, so I think it’ll be a fun outing for us all.
Have a great weekend, friends!
