Tuesday Talk: 23 Feb. 2021

Before we start, if you want to listen to what I’m listening to as I type this, click here. Every night before bed, we read a Psalm with the kids in French and in English; this week, we’re on Psalm 65 and it is simply beautiful. Maybe one day we’ll sound this good, too.

Last week, we shared that some sickness had struck our house… and that sickness is lingering. Yup, we’re still sick. A stomach bug has stuck around, and it’s good friend “Cold-Like Symptoms” has joined in the fun.

We tested negative for Covid, the flu, and strep throat; the nurse practitioner we saw ruled out pneumonia and bronchitis and didn’t have any other ideas. Basically, she said, “Huh. I don’t know what’s going on… good luck!” So we’ve been doubling down on vitamins, fluid intake, rest, and sanitizing everything. But so far, it hasn’t made much of an impact.

Because we’ve been sick, we’ve fallen behind on schoolwork. Praise the Lord, next week is spring break and we’ll have a chance to catch up again!

Lots of snuggles on the couch, lots of naps, and lots of movies this week!

So that’s it. That’s how you can be praying for us this week: for health. For the God who knit us together to come down in glory and power and knit us back together again.

We’re praying for you too, friends. Have a great week.

  1. Lord we ask for you to intervene and bring healing to the Batts home and family. I also ask that you go before them as spring break is coming. I ask that you give them wisdom to manage their time and their calendar, so that they can catch up with their school work. Father remove any distractions and restore their health in Jesus name we pray, amen.
