Lesson #22

There are some things in life that have very distinct purposes. A blanket is for keeping warm (and building forts). Shoes are for protecting your feet (and being stylish). Spoons are for eating peanut butter right out of the jar (I mean…).

But I think that, above all else, everything’s purpose is to glorify God. It’s for God’s glory alone that we have beautiful sunrises and sunsets, stars too numerous to count, and various colors of sand on beaches. It’s only for God that babies can laugh and that clouds take cool shapes in the sky.

And I think it’s important we remember that. Our lives are not our own; we were bought with a price (1 Corinthians 6:20). We are called to deny ourselves, take up our crosses, and follow Him (Matthew 16:24).

For God alone. May I live my life that way in all things.
