Tuesday

Well, it’s official and it’s so bittersweet: our house is for sale.

The house that we’ve called home for the last four years… the house where we brought home two babies and all three learned to walk… the house where countless friends joined us for countless meals… the house where we began following God’s call on our lives to Togo…

Soon, it won’t be our home anymore. We will, in fact, be homeless or in temporary housing until we settle in Togo. And that’s kind of tough.

It’s tough… but we also trust that it’s good because God is good. We don’t know what will happen in the next four (or 14 or 40) years. But we have confident hope that God is working for our good and His glory through everything that happens.

So we are praying that our house sells quickly to the right family. We’re praying that things go smoothly, that God is honored, and that we can be bravely obedient. Please join us in that prayer.

We are also lacking about 12% of our monthly support. Until that financial support comes in, we can’t get clearance to leave for language school. We are praying about who God wants to join the work He is doing in West Africa and if that’s you, we’d love to chat about how we can connect you to His work. Pray with us for our team to be fully developed soon.

But you guys! We only have a handful of items to get for Togo still! Our packing list is nearly complete, our container is being packed box by box, and our house is emptying out. We’ve been planning and preparing for over two years now and to be this close is exciting!

Thanks for walking this path with us. We love you!

  1. I am very encouraged by your description of how this life is tough, and yet good. Thank you for reminding me that God knows all things and that our trust is in Him alone.
