We are nearing the end of our first week of Field Prep (we meet again on Saturday morning) and let me tell you – we are T.I.R.E.D. I even took an hour long nap yesterday afternoon and it has been a looong time since I afforded myself that luxury.
It was amazing, by the way.
While Allen and I participated in Field Prep classes, our kids spent a lot of time watching movies, playing with Legos, snacking, screaming, and mostly getting along. Some highlights?
We spent some afternoons playing outside when the weather was okay. I overheard Ruth say, “I know I can do it! I am BRAVE!” when faced with something hard. We talk all the time about how God helps us be brave, so to see her internalize that and proclaim it herself was super fun.
Clara has been struggling a lot lately. Her routine is way off kilter. She is used to lots of one-on-one time with Allen while Ruth is at preschool and all of a sudden, she has NONE. So we started trying to find ways to pour into her little heart and already it’s making a difference.
And this little boy? He is constantly on the move, looooooves his bottles of milk, can drive his sisters crazy, and gives the sweetest hugs and kisses.
And I just have to say how proud I am of this man. He has about six weeks of class left, and it has been such an honor to have a front row seat to the hard work he’s been putting in daily for his degree. I see his sacrifices better than anyone: sleep, hobbies, relationships… it’s a tough season, but he is so close to being done!!
There are so many things we want to tell you about… more things we’ve been Priming, some more random facts about us, how our training has been so far, and what’s next for our family. So we may have more posts than usual next week!
Remember we posted our second kids Sunday School lesson yesterday, so if you’re looking for a lesson for Sunday, check it out!
We are really looking forward to a day of Sabbath on Sunday and touching base with everyone again soon. Have a great weekend!
