What We’ve Been Priming

I don’t know about you, but I love a sneak peek into people’s recent Amazon purchases. But oh man, the things we’ve been putting in our carts and buying or “Saving for Later” have definitely changed over the last couple months!

We asked on Instagram to make sure it’s something people would actually be interested in… and the results were unanimous: you guys are nosey just like I am!

Before we dive in though, did you know about AmazonSmile? Amazon donates 0.5% of the price of your eligible AmazonSmile purchases to the charitable organization of your choice at no additional cost to you?! ABWE is one of the organizations on their list (along with about a million others)! All you have to do is “checkout” through the smile.amazon.com URL.

Now, in no particular order, are some of our recent Amazon (and other) purchases:

What Your Kindergartner (and First Grader, Second Grader, and Third Grader) Needs to Know: We bought these to help guide our homeschooling plan. I haven’t had a chance to dive into them yet, but I’ve heard that they are a great place to start!

This rolling cart will hold our homeschooling supplies in Togo. I love that it has the peg board on the side so we can hang up cups with markers, glue sticks, etc.

This book is about a little girl who moves to a new place with her family. It talks about how when we go through hard things, there’s a little spark of courage that grows inside of us. We’ve read it a few times and always talk about how Jesus is with us and He is the One who helps us be brave when we’re doing something new and scary. He is the One who initiates that spark.

We bought this stretch film wrappy stuff to aid in our packing. Isn’t that so exciting?!

… and who doesn’t love a million feet of bubble wrap?!

We’ve also recently snagged a bunch of these totes from Lowes in different sizes. All progress is progress and so far, we’ve packed lots of kids’ books, some toys, and bath towels.

We bought two of these metal shelves, too. Not knowing what kind of storage, cupboards, etc. we’ll have in our house, we anticipate using these in our kitchen to store food, in our living room for games, or in bedrooms to hold clothes or toys.

And finally, we bought a stove! It seems random, I’m sure. Teammates have reported that the stoves in Togo are imported from Turkey. They are smaller and within a year or two, the hinges on the door fail. So instead of fighting that, we bought a gas stove here. We’ll convert it to propane in Togo and be good to go. #golden

We are running out of room in our garage, so PRAISE THE LORD, our container is being delivered to our house this afternoon! We’ll be able to start loading all these treasures up this weekend.

What’s the best thing you’ve Primed lately? Anything we should add to our wishlists?!

  1. We found that while living in China taking probiotics everyday was helpful (Amazon and other places like Costco carry). Our tummy’s were being exposed to lots of new things and this helped. Continued prayers.

    • Thanks, Peggy! We’ll look some up. We’d have to buy for several years at a time… Did you find that they relatively shelf-stable?
