Six Years Ago…

… we were standing together at the altar at Fairview Loop Baptist Church, committing our lives to each other before our friends, our family, and the Lord.

What a wild ride it’s been since that snowy Friday night in 2014!

We each had two attendants (Jade and Hannah for me, Matthew and Joe for Allen), plus I had a group of “Mentor Mamas” walk down the aisle – women who had poured into my life, helping prepare me for marriage and a life of following Christ.

Dianna played the piano; Pastor Tom officiated; and my dad walked me down the aisle. We lit a unity candle, read from 1 John 4, said our vows, and kissed.

We ate salad and soup from bread bowls with our guests, shared delicious cake, and had so much fun visiting with everyone.

At the end of the night, we ran out amongst the sparklers.

Six years ago today, our two lives merged into one. And I’m so thankful they did.

Happy anniversary, Allen. I’m your biggest fan.
