… and all through the house not a creature was stirring, except for the 11-month old currently in the process of breaking through 4 teeth….
First of all, Happy Birthday yesterday to my dad!!! My dad loves the Lord, his family, all things cowboy and rodeo, and knowing what’s going on around the world. He taught me how to change a tire, butcher animals, make spaghetti sauce, and hit a baseball. I am so thankful for his example of sacrifice, courage, and love. Happy (belated) birthday, dad. We all love you.
Tomorrow is Christmas! We are really looking forward to celebrating Jesus’ birth with family.
We talk a lot about “baby Jesus in the manger” at this time of year. But it’s critical to me that our kids understand that He did not stay a baby in that manger. Jesus grew up, living a sinless life that qualifies Him to be the perfect sacrifice – once and for all – for our sins. This week, we remember and celebrate that holy Child, but Christmas doesn’t mean as much without considering the work Jesus did on the cross.
2019 is drawing to a close and to be honest, my mind is racing a million miles an hour as I consider all the things we’ll do the first few months of 2020:
- Planning for shipping our household goods
- Preparing for and selling our house, cars, etc.
- Allen wrapping up his degree
- Training in April
- Finding the rest of our partnership team
- Sorting, packing, selling…
- Leaving my job
It feels like there are a million moving pieces that need to come together. I’m thankful that God sees every cog in the wheel (and He set them all in motion!!) because He knows we’ve got nothing to add to the equation…
… except obedience and willing hearts.
So please pray for wisdom, for God’s timing and provision, for peace and assurance in what promises to be a busy time of transition and changes for our family.
We are excited to see God moving the pieces into place so that, Lord wiling, we can start language school in September 2020. But there’s a lot to do before then.
Interested in helping with any of it?! We’ll be planning some fun organizing/sorting/labeling/packing/selling/etc. work days at our house. We’d love to have you join us! More details coming after the first of the year.
Merry Christmas, friends. We love you.
