It was a big week in the Batts House: I returned to work and Allen was on his own with all three kids all day. Between my 5:30 alarm clock (after nursing half the night) and Allen changing countless poopy diapers, me returning to work wasn’t necessarily a favorite… but we are so thankful for and blessed by my job.
This week, we decided to tackle our favorites by family member!
Allen’s favorite part of the week was our partner get together last Saturday! If you have not been able to make it to one of these little “parties”, you are missing out. We have the best time sharing about what God is doing in Togo while hearing what’s going on in our partners’ lives, too. And this month, we had ice cream! #WinnerWinnerChickenDinner
If you want to come to the next one, save the date now! Our next Partner Get Together will be June 1st at 6:30pm. We’ll share an update about our site visit and celebrate how God blessed our Memorial Day weekend O&P fundraising yard sale.
We always forget to take pictures during the event, but here’s a picture of our empty living room after everyone left Saturday night… It’s literally the best we have of the whole evening. #BloggerFail
MelissaThe other night, after putting the girls to bed, Ruth just kept begging me to sit next to her bed. So I did for a few minutes. As I sat there, I told her the three verses that she has memorized (Genesis 1:1, 1 John 4:19, and Psalm 20:7) so that she could just hear them again and practice them some. Then she asked me to tell her another verse… and another… and another. It blessed my heart that our girl just wanted to hear Scripture as she fell asleep.
We would guess Ruth had two favorites this week: a fun new horse that she received from Aunt Sonya in the mail… and getting a milkshake after her dentist appointment on Monday! This girl can put down a peanut butter milkshake with the best of them!
Speaking of dentist appointments, while the rest of us were getting our teeth cleaned, Clara went on a lunch and shopping date with Aunt Betty. We put her little backpack on her before she walked out the door and this independent girl didn’t even look back to wave. She was ready to go!
Besides nursing, Hudson’s favorite part of the week was… well, let’s face it. Nursing was his favorite part of the week. Here’s a cute picture of him that can now be YOUR favorite part of the week:
One more quick note we want to share. We are only 20% away from reaching our pre-site visit financial goal: to be 75% funded by May 1. If 20 people join our partnership team at $75 a month, we would reach that goal! We are praying about who the Lord will have join our team prior to the site visit. Will you join us in praying for that 20%?
Have a great weekend, friends!
