Before we dive into this week’s praises and prayer requests, I want to pause and honor those who gave their lives on 9-11-2001, be it on the ground or in the air.
About a month after 9-11, I travelled with my family to New York to visit my brother at West Point. We lost our way from the airport to our hotel and ended up a couple blocks from Ground Zero. We could see the big lights still illuminating the piles of rubble. People swarmed everywhere, tired but persevering to do their jobs. I am so thankful for first responders who willingly put everything on the line to help those in need. Even then, in the middle of the night, when things were darkest, they carried on in their work.
So we remember today.
- We had a super fun Saturday – we woke up with no plans and decided to go to the zoo! The weather was beautiful and our girls especially loved seeing the bears and bald eagle.
- We are thankful for our partners and the encouragement they provide. God has granted us the best team – every time we are feeling discouraged or facing a need, someone helps meet that need in both a spiritual and a tangible way, asks how things are going in a specific area, or just agrees to watch our girls so Allen and I can sneak off on an ice cream date. We can never say it enough: thank you for hw well you love us. We see the Lord through you.
- We need wisdom in finances and timing for our site visit to Togo. We are required to do a site visit (and it is supposed to take place toward the start of our prefield ministry). We cannot use any support funds to pay for the trip, per ABWE policy. Currently, our tickets and in-country costs are about 1/3 of the way funded. Right now, we anticipate taking our trip this spring/summer, but please join us in praying for right timing and God’s provision.
On another note, we are working on a special project this week and need your help. Our goal is to communicate well and keep everyone up to speed on what’s happening. So what questions have you had and/or heard from others about us serving in Togo? Please message us or comment on this post and ask!
Have a great week, friends.
