Our family was appointed by ABWE (the Association of Baptists for World Evangelism) to serve in Togo, West Africa. For over 90 years, ABWE missionaries have served in more than 75 countries around the world, engaging in church planting, discipleship, and compassionate care.
ABWE’s vision is to fulfill the Great Commission by multiplying leaders, churches, and missions movements among every people group. The Gospel is at the center of everything ABWE does: it is all about Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection, and His command to go and make disciples. As ABWE missionaries share Christ’s story of hope, people come to know their need for a Savior.
This video (just over a minute long) sums up some of ABWE’s work around the world:
And this video (about 4 minutes long) explore’s ABWE’s history… and it makes me cry every time I watch it:
Allen and I love ABWE for several reasons – we love their focus on the Gospel, on strengthening churches to help carry out the Great Commission. We love that they support families, that they believe in local churches to help support missions. We love their willingness to say, “Yes” when we say, “God is calling us to…” We are proud and honored to be part of the ABWE family.
